my Princess

The truth about being a mother...

I became a mother so quickly, I didn't have time to prepare anything. Next thing I knew, I was at the operating theatre, hearing my baby cry, the nurse place her on my chest and took her away to clean her and I was off to my room waiting for my little princess.

Alhamdullilah, when the nurses brought my princess in for me to breast feed her, she was able to latch on me. The first few nights at the hospital was tiring, greeting guests and feeding my princess every 3 hours. We had to stay in the hospital a bit longer because my princess had to be place at the special care for her jaundice.

After spending 6 days in the hospital, we finally was able to go home, home to my mother's to start my confinement. Such a scary feeling to be home, not knowing if I am able to care for this little princess without the help of the nurses. Being at home, was to tell you the truth, stressful. Having people telling me how to care for my princess left, right and centre and telling whatever I am doing is wrong.

First night of just us was scary, not knowing if my princess was comfortable, well fed and healthy. Was only able to sleep at most an hour every time my princess sleeps and making sure that I feed every 3 hours. It was hard to have some time alone to just bath or eat. Honestly, the first month of being a mother is HARD! I was lucky enough that my princess is kind of an easy baby. I don't know how other mothers do it when they have babies that can't stop crying or being very fussy. RESPECT!

The second came, not much different but it was easier as we knew what do to and what not do to. Still feeding my princess every 3 hours. The second month was quite a difficult month for us as something happened that made me cry and felt sooo alone.

Reaching the 3rd month we moved back to our tiny apartment. It was a tiring move as we had so much stuff to pack. Papa did most of the packing and unpacking. Going back a front preparing our home for my princess. So grateful for Papa. When we reached home, I felt that my princess knew we were home. She was happy and slept for 6 hours that night, giving mummy and papa a good night sleep. The next day, it was just the 3 of us and it was wonderful! My princess was happy and we were happy. After that night, my princess sleeps at for 6 to 7 hours every night. That's when my princess started to turn from her back to her tummy, a very big mile stone!

On the 3rd month, my princess started to poo once a week. The doctor has mentioned to us earlier that it is normal and we should not worry about it. One weeks worth of poo is A LOT!!! Took us by surprise on how much this tiny princess can poo. During this time, my princess start to smile a lot, cooing and make other noises. It so wonderful hearing my princess' voice in the morning, entertaining herself before we wake up to bathed her.

Now that we are coming to the fourth month, my princess is starting to babble. It's the cutest sound a parent could ever hear. And it is also when my princess is giggling. It lifts my spirit every time I hear it. Every baby is different, so I don't compare my princess with other babies her age. It will stress you out when you find if she hasn't done this or that.

Love being a mother and I can't wait for her other mile stones. Honestly, I miss being pregnant but being a mother for the first month was tiring and stressful. I can't wait for the next one but not just yet. I want to appreciate this time with my princess.

Till next time!

Foundations

First post on make up I wear. Yes I wear them all but not all at the same time.

1. Loreal Nude Magique BB (AUS$24.95)

I first came across the when I was in France a couple of years ago. When I saw it,  I was curious. Trying it, I loved it. It's very light weight and doesn't make my face oily. I use this when I want to look more natural as it is very light weight. Very good for those who like the more natural look. Price wise, it's not too expensive but can't get it in Malaysia. So the next best place to buy it is Australia.

Rating : 7/10

2. Loreal Nude Magique CC in orange (AUS$26.95)

Bought this in France as well. It really does cover mild redness around your face. This too is very light weight and will make you look more natural. This particular CC Cream is my favourite. I never leave the house without wearing any foundation and this CC Cream is good enough for everyday use.

Rating : 8.5/10

3. Loreal Nude Magique CC in green (AUS$26.95)

Also bought this is France. This CC Cream is good to brighten up your complexion, especially when you didn't have enough sleep or just tired with whatever. This too is very light weight and will you look more natural.

Rating : 8.5/10

For 1. 2. and 3. I restocked it when I was in Australia. I was luckily enough to buy at a good price when Price Line had a 40% discount on all cosmetic products. I went a little bit crazy.

4. Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation (AUS$15.95)

I was browsing the Priceline website looking for a good affordable foundation. And this one has very good reviews. Me mummy was there at the time so I asked her to buy it for me.  I really like the texture but it the wrong colour!!! She got me a lighter shade. I can still use it but just a tiny bit. I'm happy with the result and it doesn't make my face too cakey.

Rating : 7/10

5.  Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC Color + Correction Cream in Light/Medium (AUS$15.95)

This too was bought by my mummy ;p.

The texture is is a perfect combination of not too thick and not too light, just nice. So you dont have to put a on a lot on your face. It doesn't leave skin too oily at the end of the day, which is a plus! And if you're particular about organic stuff, this product is good and 100% natural.

Rating : 8/10

6. Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream (AUS$15.95)

This BB cream is their first anti-imperfection BB that instantly corrects and perfects. And what do I think of it? I really like it! The texture is light weight and you don't need to use a lot of it. It looks smooth on my skin and it doesn't make my face to cakey. It leave a natural look.

Rating 8.5/10

7.  It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination SPF 50+ (RM170.00)

I forgot to take a picture, so just click on the link above.

Anyhoo, I really like this product! This product blends well, very easy to apply, it goes on smoothly and it is very lightweigh. It on the pricey side so I only use it special occasions, like weddings, birthday dinners, etc.

Rating : 8.5/10

Hope whatever I wrote was helpful. Till next time!

Creams

Lets start off with stretch mark creams.

As you can see, I've been using the above creams/oil/lotion of on my growing belly. And here are my reviews on them.

* Product 1. 2. and 3. was bought in the UK.

1. Pregnacare Stretch mark cream - £5.99

My mother was in the UK when I was about a few months pregnant. So she bought this for me and a couple more.

What I think of it? The texture is thick and it doesn't make my skin dry so it's good and I don't need to use a lot of it, but I don't really like the after smell. It kinda leaves a weird smell after putting it on my body. I thought it was just me, being pregnant and having very sensitive sense of smell, but my husband too didn't like the smell. I'm still using it, because I don't want to waste it. Using it for nearly a month, so far, no stretch marks.

Rating : 6/10 (due to smell)

2. Mum & Me Bump - £7.49

Out of the 4, this is one of my favorite! Thick texture and smells great, even my husband loves it. Every time I wear it, he'll say, you smell great! After using this, still no stretch marks.

Rating : 9/10

3. Boots Maternity Stretch Mark Oil Spray - £6.49

This too is one of my favorite. The texture is oily at first but once it is dry, it feels great on my skin. It doesn't leave any oily residue and it doesn't leave any weird smells.

Rating : 9/10

4. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Stretch Mark Lotion - RM30.88

I like this product and easy to find it here in KL. The texture is good and the smell is not too bad. The cocoa butter smell is a bit strong so I can only use it when my sense of smell doesn't bother me. Sometimes it can be a bit too strong and it triggers my migraines. Other than that, its good enough.

Rating : 7/10

After using the creams/oil/lotion for a couple of months, I am happy to say that I don't have any stretch marks on my tummy, but I do have some on my butt! So I've been using it on my butt as well and I think the marks are going down.

Not too sure whether it is because of the products I've been using or I am just lucky. But I did see a good change on my skin texture after using the products, because for the first few months of being pregnant, I didn't use anything on my tummy and once my baby bump started to show, the skin around my tummy was very dry and itchy. Now I can safely say, it's soft, smooth and not flanky.

Note*
Remember to put cream/oil/lotion all over your tummy, back, boobies, BUTT and thighs. Those areas will expand when you're pregnant. Put it everyday to avoid, stretch marks, dry skin, itchiness and flanky skin. Unless, you're the prefect women and this doesn't happen to you (I HATE YOU ;p).

Hope this helps. Till next time!

Hello

Confession of a bored mummy to be.

From you title, you guessed it, I'm pregnant but this blog has nothing much about pregnancy. I might be the worst person to ask advice when it comes to pregnancy. I was and still luckily that I dont have any morning sickness, just an occasional migraines here and there, no cravings (not yet), no mood swing (I think I dont), and any more.

In this blog I feel like writing about make-up. Most girls/women loves make-up and we cant live without it. I know I cant. I'm not the most beautiful person you'll meet but I dont think I'm ugly. I you can say are just average. I can be more beautiful with make-up.

How I started with make-up. I might have started wearing make-up when I was 15. I was lucky enough to not have pimple break outs when I was a teenager but i did have very bad dark circles! It will be worst when I didnt have enough sleep. So I started using compact powder to cover it. My mum was very generous with me, I managed to ask for Clinique Compact Powder and that was it! Nothing else. Around that age, I started playing around with a lot of Drugstore brands. And I remember it being very expensive. My allowances was not enough to even buy Drugstore brands so I stole money from my parents. I was a bad girl. Thinking about it, I feel soooooo bad, so NEVER STEAL!!!!

So now at the present time, (not gonna say how many years! dont want you to know my age. I'm still 21 at heart) I have make ups ranges from cheap to expensive. Expensive in the sense where I can afford, not the super expensive ones that can break the bank.

Most make up that I have bought, I bought it while traveling. Where I'm from, the selection of Drugstore brands is very limited. So I am very lucky to be able to travel and try make ups that you cant get here.

Wont be showing how I look, because like I said, I'm not the most beautiful person you'll meet. Maybe when I do feel super beautiful and brave, I will show myself, but for now, its mostly pictures of the products I love and not like so much.

Hope you'll enjoy reading my ramblings on make ups!
